Botox, which is accepted as the first step of anti-aging applications, is a medical aesthetic application performed by injecting botulinum toxin obtained from bacteria called "clostridium botulinum" under the skin and blocking the nerve conduction to the mimic muscles for 4 to 6 months. Thanks to botulinum, the most powerful neurotoxin known in the medical field today, wrinkles and lines on the skin are removed for a while; the person gains a young, vibrant and aesthetic expression. Botox, which rejuvenates many people of middle age and above, men and women, in a single session, is applied especially to the face area; forehead, between the eyebrows, crow's feet area and around the lips and gives very successful results.
The effect of botox, one of today's most preferred skin rejuvenation applications, varies from person to person according to age, muscle strength, mimic use, the condition of the applied area and skin structure. Since the toxin injected under the skin loses its effect over time, the procedure needs to be repeated every 4 to 6 months. Botox can last for about 3 months in people who use facial expressions a lot or have strong facial muscles, and up to 6 months in people who use facial expressions less and have weak facial muscles. In addition, when repeated regularly, it creates a significant weakening in the targeted muscles, prevents possible wrinkles that may occur and ensures that the tiny lines that have not yet settled on the face are completely erased. Contrary to popular belief, Botox is a procedure whose duration of effect increases when it is applied regularly and thus performed at longer intervals. After a certain period of time, some points may not even need to be done.
Botox, which has been successfully used all over the world for many years in aesthetic procedures such as skin rejuvenation, wrinkle treatment (vertical lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines on the forehead, wrinkles around the eyes and crow's feet), neck aesthetics, eyebrow lift, raising the tip of the nose, shaping the jaw line (masseter botox) and excessive gums, is a painless, healthy and safe procedure approved by the Ministry of Health and FDA (American Food and Drug Administration). It is used not only in the field of aesthetics but also in the field of health in the treatment of excessive sweating (armpits, palms and soles), teeth clenching, grinding and migraine and significantly improves people's quality of life.
HOW IS BOTOX APPLIED?
In the Botox procedure, which should be performed in a clinical setting by an expert dermatologist in the field, the doctor first examines the skin, mimic and facial structure of the person and determines which point and what dose should be applied according to the need. The target points to be botoxed are numbed with anesthetic cream. The botulinum toxin is then injected into the designated points with very small micro-needles. This skin rejuvenation application, which is extremely safe and completely painless, is usually completed within 10-15 minutes, depending on the scope. Botox starts to show its effect 3-4 days after application and the application area takes its final shape in about 10 days. Toxin retouching is done 15 days after the first application.
WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER BOTOX APPLICATION?
After Botox, a very slight swelling and redness may occur in the application area. However, this condition resolves spontaneously in a short time (24-48 hours). The person can easily continue his/her daily life after Botox application; he/she can return to work and social life.
Who can get Botox?
Botox is a procedure that can be safely applied to anyone legally over the age of 18, except those with neurological and allergic disorders. The dosage may vary according to the person's needs and age.
