Liposuction is known as a plastic surgery method that allows the removal of excess fat tissue in various parts of the body. This procedure helps to correct body contours by reducing fat accumulation in areas such as the waist, abdomen, legs, hips, buttocks, back, arms or neck. However, liposuction is definitely not a weight loss method. It focuses more on the removal of regional excess.
APPLICATION CASES
Liposuction is preferred in cases where the desired result cannot be achieved after diet and exercise. It can also be used for breast reduction in men. It can also be used in combination with various plastic surgery procedures. Liposuction aims to reduce excess fat cells and the amount of fat removed varies according to the characteristics of the treated area. The contour change after the procedure is permanent unless weight changes are experienced.
Liposuction is not used to solve skin surface problems such as cellulite or stretch marks. It is not recommended for people with conditions such as vascular occlusion, coronary artery disease, diabetes. When done for suitable candidates, risks are minimized.
APPLICATION METHOD
During liposuction, which is usually performed under general anesthesia, a special liquid is injected into the treated area. This fluid prepares the fat cells and makes them easier to absorb. The fat cells are then sucked out with the help of special cannulas. Only small scars remain on the skin at the entry points of the cannulas.
VASER LIPOSUCTION
With some manipulations within the tissue, fat cells can be broken down more easily. Methods such as ultrasonic sound waves or radiofrequency waves can be used. Although the method is different, the surgeon's experience and skill influence the outcome.
RECOVERY PROCESS
Usually hospitalization is not required and the patient is discharged within a few hours. For large fat intakes, a one-day hospitalization may be recommended. The patient can usually return to normal life within 1-2 days. Mild edema may occur in the area after the procedure, but massages are encouraged to dissipate this edema. Special corsets or bandages can be used to speed up the healing process.
